How Legal Loopholes and Facebook's Policies Helped India's BJP in Elections

Senior journalist Paranjoy Guha-Thakurta talks to Kumar Sambhav of Reporters' Collective, the author of a four-part series of articles on Facebook and India's politics. They discuss how the failure of India's election commission to regulate surrogate ads on social media benefited the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in the time period around the 2019 national elections. They also talk about how Facebook's policies on ad pricing gave the BJP an edge in its social media campaign.
